Meet Jo

Jo Slye

Hi, my name is Jo Slye. After living long enough in the world to know that I never wanted to go back, at the age of 21, I surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and I’ve been falling more in love with Him every day for the last 25 years. 

Having been intensely blessed by the Women’s Ministry at my first church and the community and teaching through the Bible they offered to me, I have enjoyed being able to give back and serve the women around me by being involved as the opportunities arose. From serving orange juice to hand-making intricate decor or gifts to be given away, Women’s Ministry has provided a place for me to meet people, be encouraged and to remember the blessings of belonging to the body of Christ. In the fall of 2024, I was given the privilege of helping out full time, and it has been an immense pleasure. 

Psalm 34:3-5 says:
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant
And their faces were not ashamed. 

And that encompasses the heart behind what we do as the Garden Women: We gather together to magnify the Lord, seek Him, look deeply into His face, and find ourselves radiant with His joy as He washes away all of our shame and invites us in to dance through this life with Him.
